LA – Color Theory, Part 1 (week 6)

First Learning Assignment for this week was to describe in my own words these colour systems:

RGB: Comes from the colors red (R), green (G) and blue (B). This color system is used for web and digital media. It’s an additive color system – it’s created with light. It begins with black and ends to white. When you add more color it comes brighter and the combination of the these three colors red, green and blue creates the color white. Millions colors can be created.

CMYK: The colours are Cyan (C), Magenta (M), Yellow (Y) and black (K). This color system is used in printing. It’s subtractive color method, so it begins with white and ends to black. When color is added it goes close to black. Thousands colors can be created.

Then using the Kuler (Adobe Color CC) develop four different colour schemes and take a screen shots of your schemes:

  1. Monochromatic
  2. Complementary
  3. Triadic
  4. Analogous
