MA -05 Web design – Part 1

I submitted my Mandatory Assignment -05 Web design – Part 1 (front end design) today. It has been fun to jump in a world of the web design. But it has also been challenging to design a website without too much knowledge yet how to actually make it, what is possible, what is easy and what is challenging. So I tried to focus to the giving assignment, target group and to the concept. The website is a stand alone campaign site for a Bake&Cake bakery, which is launching their new product cupcakes. They will be also offering baking parties for the children’s birthdays where the children can decorate the cupcakes.

The overall feeling of the website is modern and simple. It’s meant to appeal both target groups – parents and children. While designing the page I tried to keep in mind that it would be easy to navigate and that the relevant information would be easy to be seen.

Colours: The colour were found from an inspiration picture that I liked and modified in Adobe Kuler. White, green/blue and pink/red. Goes great with the theme of cupcakes and birthday parties.

Elements: dotted line in the edge of the blue frame, logo in the left upper corner, navigation bar on the top right corner. Links to the social media in the footer. Hoover affect in the navigation bar and the social media buttons. Photoslide in the front page.
