Week 25 – Motion design extended

This week has been busy. I think it had as much info and to do as the last four other weeks we have had motion design. A lot of learning videos (total 11 hours) about After Effect, tracking, layering and how to add music in the correct way.

I tried to do as much of the exercises as I could when though it wasn’t assigned and necessary. I just think you learn more if you do it yourself. I also worked a bit with Mandatory assignment, Title Sequence for the Noroff Diamond Awards ceremony. It was good to able all the tips straight to the project.

Here’s few screenshots from the LinkdIn exercises I made.

The learning activity for this week was to create Apple Ipod advertisement in After Effects similar to the old fashion add like the one down here. The ad should be cut to any music track of my choice, be 30 seconds in length and must have an animated background. It needs to use colour graded and keyed footage.

I bought a green screen background from Amazon and hang it to the cloth rack. I used my spot lights from each side of the video camera and a light above the green screen. My girls were acting my models and danced to the music. The keying was not easy at all. Learning income was that the green screen have to stay still and the lightning should be very good and exactly from the right angle. I still had a lot of fun doing it and learned a lot again.

Here’s my ipod add.
